If you ever want to get your own back on Simon Cowell you can do one of two things.
One, if you’re a member of a band like One Direction, sign your solo record deal with a label that ISN’T Sony….
Or, if you’ve been booted off the X Factor, head straight to the Beeb and beg to be covered in sequins on Strictly Come Dancing just to stick two fingers up to the mogul!
That’s what Caroline Flack and Melvin Odoom did. Remember?
Well, now cheeky chappy pop hunk Olly Murs says he fancies taking a spin on the Strictly dance floor himself so that he can thoroughly irritate his old boss.
“I’ve always been open to the idea of Strictly,” he’s teased. “I went down there this year and did a performance and part of me just enjoyed the whole atmosphere. It was really lovely down there and part of me was like I’ll just to do it to wind up Simon Cowell.
He added: “I would do it just to be cheeky and have a bit of fun, he [Simon] would be like ‘You’re not doing Strictly… are you?’ and I’d be like yes I am.”
But before Strictly producers get overly excited, Olly says he is done with reality shows for the time being.
“Honestly, I actually just really enjoyed the atmosphere, and learning them sort of dances would be quite fun,” he told BBC Radio 1’s Breakfast Show. “but I don’t think I will be doing it anytime soon but never say never.”
However, even if his career were to go t*ts up tomorrow, Olly is adamant that he would never do I’m A Celeb because he couldn’t imagine showing down on testicles and creepy crawlies.
“I’m not doing I’m A Celebrity…,” he revealed, addressing growing rumours he was set to join this year’s series. “I couldn’t eat the things they do in the jungle, absolutely no go.
“I think I’ve done my fair share of reality shows, I’m just concentrating on my music now.”
