The Met Office issued a yellow ‘severe’ weather warning for Tuesday and Wednesday, sparking fears that more flooding could be on the way.
The Met Office said that Tuesday would contain “showers across Scotland and Northern Ireland”.
They added: “Elsewhere, after a mostly dry start, outbreaks of rain will develop during the afternoon. Heavy showers and thunderstorms cloud develop in the south later.
“Thunderstorms may develop bringing torrential rain, hail and lightning to a few places, with potential disruption to travel and flooding.”
