Breaking up with one of the most famous supermodels on the planet would hit any man fairly hard.
And since singer Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid shocked fans last week by announcing their split, their supporters have had their eyes firmly on their social feeds to make sure they’re doing okay.
It appears Zayn is taking solace in having more tattoos added to his ever-growing collection, taking to Instagram to show off new additions.
But one of them has divided the opinions of fans even more than his decision to have Gigi’s eyes inked on his chest.
The tattoo shows a huge rose rising up from his neck towards the back of his head, with delicate petals and thorns on view.

But at first glance, many fans though Zayn had simply committed an unforgivable hair fail – and grown a ‘rat’s tail’.
They took to the comments to let him know their displeasure, with one writing: “A permanent rat tail you played yourself”.
Another said: “I thought it was a rat tail at first… now I wish it was.”
Zayn didn’t put a caption on his image, preferring to let the artwork speak for itself. He’s been extremely active on his Instagram page recently, posting shot after shot of his tatted-up torso.
And it wasn’t all negativity towards his new piece in the comments either, with some of his followers thinking he pulled off the look with style.
One wrote: “That’s really cute” while another said: “I thought zayn got a rat tail and like damn he could still rock it”.

Gigi and Zayn’s split seems totally amicable, with the pair of them taking to social media to express their admiration for one another.
We can only wonder what Gigi would have made of Zayn’s latest inking, though – guess we’ll never know!
