Royal fans are convinced the Duchess of Sussex spoke about struggles in the public eye at the Lion King premiere.

A video has been shared on Twitter showing Meghan and her husband Prince Harry speaking to singer Pharrell Williams at the glitzy event in London’s Leicester Square on Sunday evening.

But eagle-eyed fans are claiming they heard Meghan saying “they don’t make it easy”.

A fan account shared the clip, where Pharrell praised the couple’s “wonderful union”.

He reportedly said: “So happy for your union. Love is amazing. It’s wonderful.

“Don’t ever take that for granted but what it means in today’s climate, I just wanted to tell you it’s so significant for so many of us. Seriously. We cheer you guys on.”

Meghan then apparently replied: “Thank you, they don’t make it easy.”

The Duchess has faced much criticism since she joined the royal family.

Earlier this month, the couple faced backlash for making their son Archie’s christening private.

They were also criticised by many for spending £2.4 million of taxpayer’s money to renovate their home Frogmore Cottage.

Meanwhile, last week, reports claimed Meghan had banned people from taking photos of her at Wimbledon.

Wearing jeans, a black top and a white blazer, smiling Meghan looked picture perfect as she sat alongside pals Genevieve Hillis and Lindsay Roth.

PR consultant Sally Jones was seated in the same row as Meghan and claimed she didn’t even know Meghan was there when she took a picture of Serena in action on court.

She said one of Meghan’s royal protection officers then asked her to stop taking photos of the mum of one.

One person who was quick to criticise Meghan was Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan, who said on the show last week: “This is not a private visit. If you’re the Duchess of Sussex, getting a freebie at Wimbledon, you’re there as a member of the royal family.

“I don’t know what they’re trying to achieve. She wants all the good stuff and she’s behaving like a Hollywood actress.

“She wants to have her cake and eat it and it’s driving people nuts.”
