Meghan Markle has paid a big personal price to become a real-life princess — she has had to give up her favourite food, royal insiders have revealed.
The 36-year-old, who became the Duchess of Sussex when she married Prince Harry last month, is no longer permitted to eat seafood, which she is said to love.

It’s all because of the higher risks of food poisoning associated with shellfish, not least when they are on overseas business, according to royal butler Grant Harrold.
“It is a very sensible move to abandon having seafood when out and about on public duties,” he told Express.co.uk.

Meghan is reported to have said previously that seafood would be high on her list for an “ideal food day”.
Despite the ban, Meghan has eased her way into royal life, looking relaxed and at ease during public engagements such as Trooping the Colour last weekend and alongside the Queen this week.
And that’s despite having to forego more than just shellfish to join the royal British ranks.
She is no longer allowed to stop for fans, sign autographs or memorabilia or take selfies, all things the former Suits actress enjoyed doing during her old life.
The duchess also cannot go out in public unaccompanied as she is surrounded by security at all times.
Instagram and other social media updates, which Meghan used to post often, are also prohibited.
