Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have delayed their honeymoon to attend Prince Charles’ 70th birthday celebrations.
The Queen will throw a garden party at Buckingham Palace just three days after the royal wedding, and the newlyweds will be among the guests.
It will be Harry and Meghan’s first official engagement as a married couple.
The event on Tuesday 22 May, will celebrate the Prince of Wales’ patronages and military affiliations.
More than 6,000 people have been invited to rub shoulders with the royals including members of the police, fire, ambulance and mountain rescue services, and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
Harry, 33, and former Suits actress Meghan, 36, have attended numerous engagements around the country since they announced their engagement last November.
But this will be their first as husband and wife, using their new titles, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
The pair will then head off on their honeymoon.
Africa is believed to be their destination as it’s a place close to their hearts.
They spent a holiday together in Botswana when they were first getting to know one another and both support numerous charities in the region.
