During her third pregnancy, Kate has again suffered from Hyperemesis Gravidarum – a condition that causes extreme morning sickness.
Kate experienced the condition with Prince George and Princess Charlotte as well as her third child, and has had to miss several public appearances as a result.
Now, the Sunday Times is reporting that the Duchess plans to turn to hypnobirthing to help with labour pains.
The Times claims that midwives at St. Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London are being trained in the technique in preparation for the royal birth.
The private hospital played host to the births of Kate’s previous two children – as well as those of Princes William and Harry – and is expected to look after the third as well.
Midwives in the Lindo Wing of the hospital are said to be scheduled to receive two days of dedicated training in hypnobirthing next month.
Hypnobirthing combines self-hypnosis, relaxation and breathing techniques during the birth process in an effort to minimise pain.
It’s been praised by celebrities in the past, including supermodel Gisele Bündchen, who claims it enabled her to have a painless water birth, with her son.
The Duke and Duchess recently sent there younger child off to school for the first time.
