It has been reported that Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, is set to put the Queen before her personal life this Christmas.
Kate and her husband, Prince William, are reportedly set to spend Christmas at Sandringham along with their children this year, as the Queen has her first Christmas without Prince Phillip.
What is Kate Middleton and William doing this Christmas?
In what has been an unprecedented year for the Royal Family, what with the death of Prince Phillip and the bombshell of the Oprah interview, Kate is set to put duty first this festive season.
But according to one royal expert, Kate’s selflessness when it comes to her duty isn’t anything new.
Speaking to OK magazine, expert Katie Nicholl discussed how Kate prioritises duty above herself.

“In the early years of being a family, they did try and alternate Christmas,” Katie explained. “One year with the Queen and the Royal Family and the next year with the Middleton’s. But Kate and William put duty before self and we can see that, now more than ever.”
Katie then went on to explain that Christmas was a “big thing” for the Middletons, and there is a “sacrifice” on Kate’s part.
However, Kate always ensures that she’s at Sandringham on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day now.
What do the Cambridge children think of having two Christmases?
But, Katie believes that having two Christmases is a lot of fun for Kate Middleton and Prince William’s children.
This is because they get to celebrate it once with their great-grandmother, the Queen, and then with their grandparents, the Middleton’s at their Buckleberry home.
Katie also revealed that the Cambridge children are very into their technology, and are “quite tech-savvy”. However, she claims that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge prefer to give more “practical presents” to their children.
“I’m sure they’re not going to want for anything, but when it comes to technology and screens, they are careful not to spoil them with extravagant gifting,” Katie said.

These revelations come just days after the Duchess and her husband announced they’d be hosting a Christmas carol concert this year.
There has been much debate about who will broadcast the concert, especially after the Royal Family’s bust-up with the BBC.
It’s believed that Kate Middleton and Prince William’s Christmas concert will air on ITV in a few weeks.
