“It’s a really happy time for any couple and we wish them all the best and hope they enjoy this happy moment,” she added.
Kate’s comments came after she and husband Prince William issued a statement about Harry and Meghan’s engagement on Monday.
It read: “We are very excited for Harry and Meghan. It has been wonderful getting to know Meghan and to see how happy she and Harry are together.”
The duchess made her latest remarks came as she toured The Foundling Museum in London.
It was established back in 1739 to care for babies at risk of abandonment and is the UK’s first children’s charity and public art gallery.
Kate’s visit to the hospital could possibly have delayed Kensington Palace’s announcement of when Harry and Meghan will wed.
Royal fans have been glued to the palace Twitter account all morning hoping for an update on when and where the royal wedding will take place, but the social media feed has instead focused on Kate’s important outing.
Harry and Meghan announced their engagement on Monday.
The prince got down on one knee at his home, Nottingham Cottage, in Kensington Palace earlier this month, after seeking permission from the American actress’ parents.
They gave their first TV interview later that night, where Harry gushed: “The fact that I fell in love with Meghan so incredibly quickly was sort of confirmation to me that all the stars were aligned, everything was just perfect.
“It was this beautiful woman just sort of literally tripped and fell into my life, I fell into her life.”
Everyone is now waiting for more details about the actual wedding day.
It’s been speculated Kensington Palace will announce at some stage on Tuesday the exact date of their wedding and the location.
The hot favourite right now is St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, but it’s still unknown whether they will tie the knot before or after Kate and William’s third child arrives in April.
Meanwhile, Camilla, The Duchess of Cornwall, who is married to Harry’s father, Prince Charles, has also been gushing about the engagement today.

“Sometimes, you know, in a climate where we are surrounded by a lot of bad news, it’s a real joy to have some good news for once.”
