“Prince Harry and Ms. Markle are very much looking forward to welcoming Ms. Markle’s parents to Windsor for the wedding,” the palace said.
The statement explained that Thomas and Doria will be arriving in the UK in the week of the wedding to allow time for Harry’s family to spend time with them before the big day.
“Both of the bride’s parents will have important roles in the wedding,” the statement continued. “On the morning of the wedding, Ms. Ragland will travel with Ms. Markle by car to Windsor Castle.
“Mr. Markle will walk his daughter down the aisle of St George’s Chapel.”
It said Meghan is “delighted” to have her parents by her side “on this important and happy occasion”.
Meghan’s family will arrive in the UK the week of the wedding.
On the big day, members of the royal family will begin to arrive at St George’s Chapel from 11:20am.
Prince Harry will then arrive at the chapel with his brother and best man Prince William.
As the royal family begins to arrive, a “pooled media facility will cover Ms. Markle and Ms. Ragland’s departure” from Meghan’s overnight location.
Meghan and her mum will then travel to Windsor Castle along part of the Long Walk so members of the public can see the car as it passes.
The palace says there will also be “a brief stop at the Castle” where Meghan’s mum will head into the Chapel as Meghan joins her bridesmaids and page boys before making her way to the chapel.
