Meghan and Harry in a ‘state of delight’ after welcoming son Archie

Friends reveal the Duke and Duchess are doting parents

Friends of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have revealed that they are loving their new role as parents to newborn son Archie Harrison.

It’s claimed that Meghan and Harry, who welcomed the tot on May 6, are in a “state of delight” after becoming parents.

Harry flew to Rome this weekend to take part in a polo match for his charity Sentebale and, according to his polo pals, the doting new dad has a “glow” about him.

Sentebale chairman Johnny Hornby told People: “He is a magnet for children. I didn’t think he could have appreciated children more than he did before, but I have seen a whole new involvement with them now he’s a father.”

Johnny added that Harry’s polo-playing friend Nacho Figueras met “little Archie” last week and he revealed: “The duke couldn’t take his eyes off of him – nor his hands.”

Nacho was also quick to defend the new dad during their trip to Rome, when a reporter apparently asked: “Not many fathers go abroad within two weeks of the birth, any word on that from the mother?”

According to Cosmopolitan, Nacho responded on the prince’s behalf and said: “That’s an assumption that you’re making. I am a father of four and sometimes duty calls.”

He added: “This is 24 hours away from the house, I think he’s doing just fine. He’s a wonderful father. I’m very impressed and he’s here for an amazing cause. So I don’t see that as a problem.”

Prince Harry founded Sentebale in 2006 to support vulnerable children and orphans affected by AIDS and HIV in Africa. The annual polo event has raised over £6 million in the past nine years.

Speaking shortly after Archie’s birth, during the tot’s first official photocall, Harry told reporters: “Parenting has been amazing. It’s only been what two-and-a-half days, three days but we’re just so thrilled.”

Doting mum Meghan added: “I have the two best guys in the world, so I’m really happy.”
