They were branded “hypocrites” after calling for “peace” soon after cutting ties with her father.
Now Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have hit the headlines after hiring a PR firm who have looked after a number of highly controversial clients.
And it’s a decision which hasn’t gone down well with royal watchers, with some saying “you can’t make this stuff up”.
Said to be one of the best companies when it comes to dealing with “crisis management”, the couple have enlisted the help of Sunshine Sachs.
The Hollywood PR company’s previous clients include disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein and Michael Jackson – who had allegations of child abuse levelled at him.

The Sun claims Meghan “went behind the backs of Buckingham Palace advisors” to hire the company.
It’s claimed that Meghan “trusts” the company’s Keleigh Thomas Morgan, who looked after her during her time as an actress on Suits.
A source revealed: “Meghan trusts Keleigh, who got a prime seat at her wedding and she’s known for years.”
They added: “Hiring a Hollywood firm to represent you for PR while a member of the royal family is unorthodox to say the least.”
The source also revealed that senior palace aides are “bemused” that the couple have been “ignoring advice from their own highly professional team”, which includes global PR chief Sara Latham.

“Senior palace courtiers have been left bemused over the last few months that the couple have been ignoring advice from their own highly professional team and will instead listen to outsiders in Hollywood,” they said.
Buckingham Palace officials said the couple had hired the company to help launch their foundation in the States.
Not sure it worked out too well for him. Is this the right team or is the crisis so bad that no one else would take the job?

Sunshine Sachs are said to be guiding Harry and Meghan on plans for their new Sussex Royal charitable foundation, as well as the launch of Travalyst – a new sustainable travel initiative.
Speaking at the launch, ITV reports that Harry addressed the couple’s recent use of private jets and said: “We can all do better, and while no one is perfect we are all responsible for our individual impact.”
He added of the recent controversy: “I spend 99 per cent of my life travelling the world by commercial. Occasionally there needs to be an opportunity based on a unique circumstance to ensure my family are safe and it’s genuinely as simple as that.”
