With the tot no doubt being looked after at home in Windsor, the Duchess of Sussex looked thrilled to be back to her duties.
Meghan’s first official engagement following the end of her maternity leave was to launch her new Smart Works capsule collection – and she certainly looked the part.
Meghan looked chic, stylish and ready for the office as she arrived at John Lewis in London wearing a pair of skinny black trousers and a white shirt from the Smart Set collection.
She teamed her shirt and trousers with a pair of killer heels and some beautiful butterfly earrings that once belonged to her late mother-in-law, Diana, Princess of Wales.
Launching the five-piece capsule collection for Smart Works, a charity which provides training and interview clothes to unemployed women in need, Meghan revealed her design inspirations.
She said: “I thought, this is going to be classics and essentials.”
To make the idea a reality, it was then time to turn to “traditional and quintessential British brands”, said Meghan.
It has been designed in collaboration with Jigsaw, Marks & Spencer, John Lewis and the duchess’s pal Misha Nonoo and features a shirt, a pair of trousers, a blazer, a dress and a tote bag.
Meghan added: “When you buy any item in the Smart Set capsule collection, the same item will be given to a Smart Works client.”
She continued: “And, with it, the confidence and support she needs to enter the workforce and take an important step in building a career.”
