Meghan Markle is named 2019’s ‘most powerful dresser’

The ONLY royal to make the top ten

As she starts her “well-deserved” extended break, the Duchess of Sussex has been named the most influential dresser of 2019.

Ending the year on a high, fashion fan Meghan climbed the ranks of annual fashion report the Lyst Index to hit the top spot.

She replaces Kylie Jenner at number one, having risen from third place last year.

The report analyses data collected throughout the year to reveal the biggest fashion trends.

It revealed that Meghan has sparked a 216% increase in searches for items similar to those that she has worn.

Her sister-in-law the Duchess of Cambridge – who in 2017 was placed fifth – slipped to number 11 in the 2019 list.

The shirt dresses Meghan wore during her recent royal tour of Africa saw a 45% increase in searches for that style of dress.

While the royal also showed her fashion credentials as she guest edited fashion bible Vogue and launched her SmartSet capsule collection for Smart Works.

Last week an unseen photograph from the campaign shoot was released, showing the duchess laughing with her model pals.
