The Duchess of Sussex will miss out on a potentially awkward meeting with President Trump when he makes an official state visit to the UK next month.
After calling the American politician “misogynistic” and “diverse” in 2016, Meghan has new baby Archie to thank for being able to side-step the visit.
Former actress Meghan, who was born in Los Angeles, is currently on maternity leave, which offers her the perfect “excuse” not to meet with the controversial president.

Since she only recently became a new mum, the royal will not have to attend any of the official dinners or lunches during his state visit.
Royal expert Duncan Larcombe revealed: “I’m told that there are no plans for Meghan to meet President Trump.”
He said: “Not as a snub because – how shall we say – it’s a quite convenient period of maternity leave so she won’t be working.”
Duncan added: “The fact she’s on maternity leave obviously gives her an excuse.”
However, her husband Prince Harry will meet Trump and his family during a private lunch.
The Queen’s first meeting with the politician will also take place behind closed doors due to security concerns.

Prince Harry will miss the visit’s biggest event though – a state banquet hosted by the Queen on June 3. Buckingham Palace has revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall will attend.
While Trump was running for American President, Meghan spoke out in support of his rival, Hillary Clinton.
She said: “I’m voting for Hillary Clinton, not because she is a woman, but because Trump has made it easy to see that you don’t really want that kind of world that he’s painting.”
