Meghan Markle is fresh from the private christening of her baby son Archie at the weekend.
Now reports claim that the Duchess of Sussex wants to extend the family by adopting a rescue dog, so that her young son can experience childhood with a canine best friend.

The Sun reports that Meghan, 37, wants to tour rescue homes near to Windsor to find a suitable pooch for Archie.
“Meghan really wants a dog with whom Archie can associate his childhood,” a source was quoted as saying.
“Rescue dogs are a huge passion for her so the pull to adopt rather than buy a puppy is far stronger.
“Meghan really wants a dog with whom Archie can associate his childhood. She hopes they strike up an incredible bond and Archie can make plenty of memories.”

The Duchess, a confirmed dog lover, is said to have been encouraged to expand the Sussex house dog pack by her mother, Doria.
A patron of animal welfare charity Mayhew, Meghan was seen cuddling a Jack Russell called Minnie on a visit to Mayhew’s centre in Kensal Green, London in January.
She had to leave her beloved beagle, Bogart, behind in Toronto when she moved over to London.

Meghan and Prince Harry shared two beautiful photos from baby Archie’s christening on Saturday (July 6).
The official photographs were taken in the Green Drawing Room at Windsor Castle – the same place the Duke and Duchess of Sussex posed for pictures after their May 2018 wedding.
The second photo was a gorgeous black and white shot of the Duke and Duchess with Archie.
Today, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son Archie was christened at Private Chapel at Windsor Castle.

In the more formal family shot, Meghan and Harry paid tribute to his late mother Princess Diana.
In a touching acknowledgement, Diana’s two older sisters, Lady Jane Fellowes and Lady Sarah McCorquodale, were also included into the family group.
Harry, Meghan and Archie were also seen sitting on an ornate, two-seat green sofa with gold detail.
It’s the same chair that Diana and the Queen sat on in the official photos from Harry’s christening.
