The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived in South Africa with their son Archie on Monday.

The family touched down in Cape Town to begin their royal tour after their commercial British Airways flight was delayed by 40 minutes.

Doting mum Meghan was seen cradling four-month-old Archie, who looked adorable in a white bobble hat, as they were greeted by airport staff and security.

The royal tot’s sweet outfit appears to be a tribute to his dad Prince Harry, who wore an almost identical outfit in January 1985 when he was nearly four months old as he was carried off a plane at Aberdeen airport by his mum, Princess Diana.

Meghan looked chic inn a cream cardigan, white jeans and flat pumps.

Harry wore a grey blazer, white shirt and dark trousers.

Following their arrival, Meghan changed her outfit to visit the Nyanga Township in South Africa.

She opted for a stunning midi animal print dress with a pair of black wedges.

The couple met children and locals at the Justice Desk initiative, which teaches children about their rights and provides self-defence classes and female empowerment training to young girls in the community.

A royal spokeswoman said on Sunday: “Their Royal Highnesses are very much looking forward to their arrival in Africa tomorrow on their first official tour as a family.

“As you well know, Africa holds a very special place in the Duke’s heart and he is looking forward to sharing South Africa with the duchess and their son.

“It is a really busy programme, four countries in ten days, and we have an extra special small passenger to make things more lively.”

After touring South Africa, Harry will set off on his own to visit Botswana, Angola and Malawi, before joining back up with former actress Meghan, 38, and Archie.

A palace source recently told People magazine: “[They] are very much looking forward to their arrival in Africa tomorrow on their first official tour as a family.
