Meghan’s sudden reappearance on social media explained

She deleted her social media accounts earlier this year

Fans were left confused this week when The Duchess of Sussex’s Instagram account mysteriously reactivated.

When she became engaged to husband Harry, Meghan deleted her social media accounts, as well as her personal blog The Tig, in order to to become part of the royal family.

Kensington Palace now has an active Twitter and Instagram account on their behalf to keep fans updated with what the royal couple are up to.

On Tuesday night, Meghan’s Instagram reappeared with all her old posts and her three million followers.

Many fans were left baffled and wondered if the Duchess had returned to social media despite royal protocol.

Others thought she may have been hacked.

Her profile picture was of herself led in bed while her bio still read: “UN. World Vision. One Young World. Suits. The Tig.”

However, it’s all been cleared up by royal commentator Omid Scobie, who revealed just why Meghan’s account reappeared.

He tweeted: “For those of you asking, Duchess Meghan is not making a return to Instagram. You can blame a system glitch for her account resurfacing on the app this morning.”

As well as a successful acting career, Meghan also built up a large online community as a lifestyle blogger, amassing lots of followers on her Instagram, Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Earlier this year, a source told the Daily Star that Meghan was “missing her friends” after quitting social media.

The insider revealed: “She is missing her friends and also the wider circle she had on social media.

“She’s finding things harder than she thought and it will take time to adjust.”

Meghan is now focusing on preparing to welcome her first child with Harry after they announced the exciting news in October.

Kensington Palace revealed the news on Twitter at the time, writing: “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019.

“Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.”

The baby will be seventh in line to the throne.
