Mike Tindall has joked about his “disappointment” at being passed over as Prince Harry’s best man when he marries Meghan Markle.
The rugby star – who is married to Harry’s cousin Zara – chatted about Saturday’s royal wedding while talking to Magic Breakfast’s Ronan Keating and Harriet Scott.
Mike quipped that he’d offered himself up as best man after Harry and Meghan got engaged, but sadly the role went to Harry’s brother, The Duke of Cambridge, instead.
He joked: “When I saw they were getting married, I did text Prince Harry and said, ‘I’ve written my speech, I’m ready,’ and he said, ‘Sorry mate that job’s full but I do need someone to show people where to park their cars.'”

Mike laughed: “That, I thought, was a little bit harsh! I was a little bit disappointed.”
He continued: “I just hope it’s an amazing day for them. I hope they get the day that they want and that’s all you can sort of wish for.”
Mike joked he could get his own back over not being best man by rocking up to the wedding in total violation of the strict morning suit dress code!
He teased he’d buy a swimsuit with Prince Harry’s face on it and wear it under his suit to surprise the groom on the day.
The, er, interesting swimsuits were featured on ITV’s This Morning earlier this week.
Mike joked: “Did you see those swimming suits? I sent a picture to Harry and said, ‘I’m definitely getting one, I’ve got a few on order.’
“I play for Richmond Hampton Rugby club and one of the guys said, ‘I’ve ordered two, I’m gonna send it to you.’
“So I then said to Harry, I’m going to wearing it under my morning suit.
“So if it arrives on time, I will definitely rock that look.”

Mike, meanwhile, has a busy couple of days: as well as attending the royal wedding tomorrow, his annual Celebrity Golf Classic takes place today.
It takes place in aid of The Cure Parkinson’s Trust.
He’ll spend today on the golf course before travelling to Windsor with pregnant wife Zara to attend Harry and Meghan’s wedding.
They’ll tie the knot at midday at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
