Royal wedding guest Oprah Winfrey has laughed off rumours she lavished Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex’s mum with gifts in order to bag an exclusive interview.
There had been speculation that media mogul Oprah was seeking an interview with Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland.
Rumours were heightened when Doria was seen leaving Oprah’s home before the royal wedding carrying a basket of goodies, leading some to speculate Oprah had treated her to gifts to help secure a chat.
However, in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, Oprah cleared up the rumours and said there is NO interview in the works.

Oprah insisted she’d just been having a fun and relaxing day with Doria, a new friend, and the basket Doria was carrying actually contained lunch leftovers!
She explained: “I love that story, that Meghan’s mum had come to my house and she left laden with gifts.
“You know what the gifts were? First of all, she’s great at yoga, so I said, ‘Bring your yoga mat and your sneaks in case we just want to do yoga on the lawn.’ So one of the bags was a yoga mat and the other was lunch!”
Oprah said she sent Doria home with a basket of leftover kumquat fruits, which were picked for lunch from her very own garden.
So, mystery solved!
Oprah was among the 600 guests invited to watch former actress Meghan marry Prince Harry at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on May 19.
The television legend secured a coveted seat within the chapel’s quire, alongside The Queen and other senior members of the royal family.
Meanwhile, Meghan will take on her first official engagement with Her Majesty on Thursday, as they travel together to Chester.
It will also mark Meghan’s first engagement without her husband.

Meghan and The Queen will open Chester’s Storyhouse Theatre and the Mersey Gateway Bridge on June 14.
They will also attend a lunch together.
Meghan made her first Buckingham Palace balcony appearance over the weekend, joining the royal family at Trooping The Colour.
