The couple said they wish to produce “inspirational” content for the streaming giant.
‘Powerful storytelling’
They said in a joint statement: “Through our work with diverse communities and their environments, to shining a light on people and causes around the world, our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope.
“As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us, as is powerful storytelling through a truthful and relatable lens.
“We are pleased to work with Ted and the team at Netflix whose unprecedented reach will help us share impactful content that unlocks action.”
Netflix co-founder and co-CEO Reed Hastings says he is incredibly excited about their deal.
He even thinks their content will be the most streamed Netflix content of 2021.
He told CNBC: “We’re going to do a wide range of entertainment with them.
“I can’t tell you any more than that about it at this point, but I think it will be some of the most exciting, most viewed content next year.”
Netflix has yet to confirm when the couple’s first production efforts will stream.
