Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ‘will take baby Archie along’ for Diana grave visit

It will also be Meghan's first trip to late royal's final resting place

| Updated:

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are set to make an emotional pilgrimage to the grave of his mother Princess Diana, according to reports.

Baby Archie is also believed to be making the trip to his grandmother’s island resting place at the Althorp estate in Northamptonshire.

The visit is reported to be planned for the end of this month as fans remember the late royal on the 22nd anniversary of her death.

It is thought to be the first time either Prince Harry or his brother Prince William will have visited their mother’s grave since 2017.

A royal source is quoted as telling the MailOnline website that Harry is keen for his wife to visit Diana’s memorial, which is not accessible to the public.

Harry and Meghan recently delighted social media fans by quoting advice attributed to his mother on Instagram.

The post read: “Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you.”

One follower commented: “Princess Diana was so loved and inspiring. Thank you so much for sharing one of my favourite quotes of all time. She is missed. Much love.”

This morning, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was christened in the Private Chapel at Windsor Castle at an intimate service officiated by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are so happy to share the joy of this day with members of the public who have been incredibly supportive since the birth of their son. They thank you for your kindness in welcoming their first born and celebrating this special moment. Their Royal Highnesses feel fortunate to have enjoyed this day with family and the godparents of Archie. Their son, Archie, was baptised wearing the handmade replica of the royal christening gown which has been worn by royal infants for the last 11 years. The original Royal Christening Robe, made of fine Honiton lace lined with white satin, was commissioned by Queen Victoria in 1841 and first worn by her eldest daughter. It was subsequently worn for generations of Royal christenings, including The Queen, her children and her grandchildren until 2004, when The Queen commissioned this handmade replica, in order for the fragile historic outfit to be preserved, and for the tradition to continue. Harry previously revealed he sought counselling at the age of 28 to help with the grief of losing his mother.

He told reporters in 2017 how his personal pain and living in the public eye had left him feeling he could be “very close to a complete breakdown on numerous occasions”.
