Finding Freedom co-author Carolyn Durand claims Prince William and Prince Harry are actively seeking to mend their rift.
The book, co-written with Omid Scobie, alleges that the once-close brothers William and Harry fell out when Meghan Markle came into the picture.
Carolyn spoke to America’s Today show about the new book.
She said that William advised Harry to take his time getting to known Meghan, which apparently left Harry “hurt”.
She said: “He expressed to him, maybe he wanted to take some more time getting to know Meghan.

“It wasn’t because people didn’t trust Meghan. This was simply because the boys had watched our for each other since they were young children.”
She added: “As we write in the book, it wasn’t anger. It was hurt.”

However, she says that the pandemic has forced the brothers to rebuild their once seemingly indestructible bond.
The royal reporter says that lockdown has provided them both with plenty of time to reflect – and indeed to reach out to one another.
Carolyn continued: “They are making their way back to each other.
“Like in any family, there have been some ups and downs, but the brothers are making their way back to each other.
“And that will take some time.”
Are Harry and William on speaking terms now?
Within the book itself, it is asserted that Harry interpreted William’s initial reaction to Meghan as one of snobbery.
He apparently disliked William’s use of “this girl” to describe Meghan.

The authors write: “In those last two words, ‘this girl’, Harry heard the tone of snobbishness that was anathema to his approach to the world.
“During his 10-year career in the military, outside the Royal bubble, he had learnt not to make snap judgments about people based on their accent, education, ethnicity, class or profession.”
Elsewhere it claims Harry felt that royal staff favoured William as their rift emerged.
This allegedly left him feeling “thrown under the bus”.
The writers make the claim: “Harry was upset that it was playing out so publicly and that so much of the information being reported was wrong.
“There had been moments where he felt people working with his brother had put things out there to make William look good, even if it meant throwing Harry under the bus.”
