| Updated:

Royal fans were left gushing after they spotted the Duke of Sussex rocking his son Archie in the Harry and Meghan: An African Journey documentary.

Cameras followed Harry, his wife Meghan and Archie around as they toured South Africa for an ITV documentary, which aired on Sunday night.

And one moment, captured in a reflection during an interview with Meghan, shows Harry holding his little boy close to his chest and rocking him to sleep.

The doting dad could be seen cradling the tot and rocking him from side to side in the background as Meghan spoke to the camera.

The touching moment didn’t go unnoticed by viewers, who gushed on Twitter.

Alongside a video of the moment, one person said: “Meghan is saying something important but I can’t keep my eyes off the duo in the left side corner….. Harry and Archie.”

Another wrote: “Look at Harry playing with Archie. Beautiful.”

A third tweeted: “Harry cradling Archie is so cute.”

Another gushed: “Did anyone see Harry rocking Archie in the back as Meghan was talking after the visit to the Archbishop? I know no one’s going to read this… but it was soooo sweet.

“A small highlight in this documentary.”

Viewers were also left gushing over a moment Harry wiped away dribble from Archie’s mouth as the family met Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

Last month, the couple took Archie to meet Archbishop Tutu and his daughter Thandeka Tutu-Gxashe.

While Harry was rocking Archie in the background, Meghan spoke about the empowering women and young girls she met during the tour.

She said: “When you’re on the ground and you’re experiencing it and you’re seeing it, it resonates in a different way.

“But the biggest takeaway, that I’m struck by is the optimism. These women and these young girls especially are just so empowered.”

The Duchess also spoke about the struggles in the spotlight.

Meghan said: “You’ve got to thrive, you’ve got to feel happy. And I think I really tried to adopt the British sensibility of a stiff upper lip. I’ve tried but I think that what that does internally is probably really damaging.

“I never thought this would be easy. But I thought it would be fair and that’s the part that’s really hard to reconcile. But I do just take each day as it comes.”
