Prince George and Princess Charlotte charm at Royal Wedding, Prince Louis cared for by nanny

The only prince to miss the party...

Prince George and Princess Charlotte made adorable additions to the Royal Wedding party yesterday, but someone missed out on his uncle’s wedding – so who was looking after Prince Louis?

Given that Louis is not yet a month old, his absence from the wedding is probably excusable – as his parents were busy with their own wedding responsibilities.

Speaking to Express.co.uk, Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said that the new prince’s presence would be detrimental to the happiness and serenity of the wedding.

“Absolutely nothing must detract from the focus on the happy couple and this would,” he said.

Prince William was serving as his brother Harry’s best man, just seven years after Harry performed the same service for him.

Meanwhile the Duchess of Cambridge was one of three mothers looking after the collection of children serving as pageboys and bridesmaids, including George and Charlotte.

The Royal children were joined by Meghan’s goddaughters, Remy and Rylan Litt, Harry’s goddaughter and godson, Zalie Warren and Jasper Dyer, as well as the three children of Meghan’s friends, Jessica and Benedict Mulroney – Ivy, Brian, and John.

The young royal’s nanny, Maria Borrallo, was also on hand to look after the children, ensuring the Duke and Duchess could concentrate on seeing Prince Harry married.

Kate’s mother, Carol Middleton, was also a guest at the wedding, alongside husband Michael, and children James and Pippa.

It’s a common problem among new parents – if all your usual babysitters are at the same wedding you’re at, who do you call?

Since William and Kate were staying at Windsor Castle the day before the wedding, Louis was probably there as well – with a bevy of palace staff and nannies to cater to his whims.

The next time he’ll be seen in public is likely to be his christening – which should take place later in the summer.
