Emmerdale is a beautiful village with some stunning homes.
Unfortunately many of those homes are in desperate need of an accidental explosion and a complete renovation.
Here are the main ones that we think need shaping up…
The Woolpack
Well obviously the Woolie is getting a makeover thanks to Al Chapman’s explosive goodbye.
But let’s hope it’s a good one because the last few times it has changed has been a bit hit and miss.

Things rarely change in the village watering hole – but upstairs is crying out for a new kitchen more befitting a rural pub.
Mulberry cottage
It’s a mystery to us why Laurel‘s so attached to her house – it’s hardly cosy.
Take away the fact her ex-husband lived out his final days there and you’ve got the recent hostage situation and a history of murder and mayhem in the house.
And it’s really quite awful to look at. It’s like the place that Laura Ashley would be embarrassed by.
Hopefully the new owners will own a paint brush. And fewer throw cushions.
Liv Flaherty’s house
When Aaron and Robert lived in the house you could always understand why there is a scooter just sitting there.
Or why the kitchen was designed for people who have clearly never used one before.
And as for those stairs – hardly alcoholic friendly.
The whole place needs ripping out and starting afresh – with some proper stairs please.
Harriet’s cottage
Crosses everywhere!
It didn’t make sense when Harriet was a vicar anyway – she was hardly that committed to her calling.
If she wasn’t covering up a murder or desecrating graves, she was romping in the vestry with all manner of criminals.
And while her cottage does feature a lovely shade of green – it’s a bit much, no?
Let the light in – and for crying out loud get the woman a new carpet. There’s been a body bleeding out on that one.
The Dingles
If there is one house that is in desperate need of being refurbished then it’s the Dingles’ farmhouse.
It probably had a name once upon a time but frankly I’m not interested.
It is flea-infested, ugly, dirty and generally unpleasant to look at. These people use wellies as a drinking receptacle for crying out loud.

The cottage – if you can call it that – isn’t in need of a makeover as a complete demolition and rebuild.
Or just demolition. That’s fine too.
