The Young Ones legend Adrian Edmondson is set to join the cast of EastEnders.
Adrian will take on the role of Daniel Cook, a new love interest for Jean.
Daniel is said to be charming and have a wicked sense of humour and is the perfect antidote for Jean as she continues her treatment of ovarian cancer.

Jean is unsure about Daniel at first, but eventually warms to him as he offers his support in his own unique way. The pair will strike up a bond.
Adrian, who appeared on The Celebrity Chase last year, is well known for role in The Young Ones as Vyvyan and in Bottom as Edward Hitler.
Adrian has taken on roles in numerous dramas including Holby City, Bancroft and War and Peace. He has also appeared in Disney’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi which was released in 2017.
Commenting on joining EastEnders, Adrian said: “There were only fifteen boys on my drama course at Manchester Uni, and I’ll the the third to appear in EastEnders – so I feel like it’s kind of a tradition!
“The other two being Tom Watt (Lofty Holloway) and Paul Bradley (Nigel Bates)”.

EastEnders Executive Producer Jon Sen added: “Adrian’s a phenomenal talent who will bring his own unique blend of intelligence, warmth and humour to the role of Daniel.
“We’re all over the moon he’s coming to Walford and can’t wait for this love story to hit screens later this year.”
Adrian has started filming and his first appearance will be airing later this summer.
EastEnders is on Mondays and Fridays at 8pm and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm.
