Coronation Street fans were in bits last night (Monday, November 8) as Sam’s eulogy for his mum was read out.
Left unable to speak since leaving the funeral director’s, the unwelcome task fell to his dad Nick to fulfill.
At one point it had even seemed uncertain whether the young lad would be able to make it to the funeral.
But after Nick and Leanne struggled to communicate with him, Sam eventually appeared and took his dad’s hand as they made their way to bid farewell to his mum Natasha.
What did Coronation Street Sam’s eulogy say?
As mourners convened in the Bistro, Sam kept to himself, concerning everyone.
But after his mum’s family departed, he gave Nick a piece of paper containing his eulogy for his mother.
An overwhelmed Nick gave voice to his son’s words – even though the pain of doing so was etched across his face.
The eulogy included Sam reminiscing about he had grown up with his mum always on his side.

He detailed how her hugs were like being wrapped up in a cloud.
And he remembered how she could still be fierce – as a little girl who pushed his head into an ants’ nest once discovered.
But Sam’s words became almost too heartbreaking to hear as he likened her to a shooting star.
Then she fell to Earth, and the light and the brightness was gone.
The bright lad references science as he noted how his star has died, leaving him in a black hole.
And now he ‘doesn’t know how to get out’.
How Corrie fans reacted
Many viewers at home expressed how overcome they were by the emotional scenes on social media, very often adding crying emojis to their posts.
“Beautiful eulogy from Sam in @itvcorrie,” tweeted one affected fan.
Another Twitter user added: “Watching Sam with his grief just broke my heart, especially knowing from the eulogy he’d written that he’s in a black hole.”
Someone else wrote: “Sam’s eulogy was so heartbreaking #Corrie.”
And another person reflected: “That scene with Nick reading Sam’s eulogy was heartbreaking.”

In tonight’s episodes (Tuesday November 9), Leanne vows to be there for Sam.
Both Nick and Leanne agree Sam needs help after becoming mute with grief.

Following a Zoom appointment, Dr Gaddas confirms she is referring him to Mental Health Services for talking therapy.
