Former Casualty and Waterloo Road star Rebecca Ryan is joining Coronation Street for an upcoming plot with Adam and Sarah Barlow.
Rebecca will be playing new character Lydia.
As reported in Metro.co.uk, a Coronation Street spokesperson recently hinted at what’s to come for Sarah and Adam when Lydia makes her arrival:
“After dramatic events of 2021 you would think the residents of Britain’s favourite street would be looking for a quieter start to 2022, but although the storm clouds gathering this time are metaphorical, there may be just as much damage.

“Sarah and Adam are hoping to cement their relationship by starting a family, but when Sarah’s new friend Lydia turns out to be someone from Adam’s past, could all Sarah’s dreams turn to nightmares?”
Next week Sarah attends a meeting with Gavin and his PA, Lydia. As they strike a deal, Lydia notices Sarah is looking unwell and wonders if she might be pregnant.
When Sarah reveals to Adam she may be pregnant, he’s excited at the prospect.
