Coronation Street star David Neilson has hinted Roy Cropper won’t return to the cobbles after his exit last week.
Last week Roy left Weatherfield to go to South America as he struggled with Natasha’s death – blaming himself for not telling the police Abi brought a gun to the street.
Before leaving, Roy left his business and flat in Nina‘s name.
Fans are hoping this isn’t the last they see of Roy, however David Neilson has hinted he may of made his last appearance.
He told Inside Soap: “I’m 72, obviously. When Corrie aired Norris’s funeral, we had a scene with the hearse pulling up and because of Malcolm Hebden I thought: ‘I’m really sorry that I won’t get to work with him again.’

“But there are two exits for me: one for the character and one for David. Hopefully they won’t coincide – maybe they will.”
He added: “I know Roy leaving will get a reaction. It’s a big part of your life and a big part of popular culture. He will be remembered for a long while.”
Coronation Street: Why did Roy leave?
A few weeks ago, Abi bought a gun off her ex, Tez.
She planned to kill Corey Brent, the boy who kicked her son Seb to death.
Nina discovered Abi’s plan and tried to stop her. However Abi still went after Corey and they ended up falling through a hole in the ground.
Abi pointed the gun at Corey and he confessed to murdering Seb, but Roy found them and convinced her not to hurt him.
Soon the water swept the gun away. It was later found by escaped prisoner Harvey Gaskell, who was out to kill Leanne Battersby.
However he shot Natasha thinking she was Leanne and she later died in hospital during surgery,
Roy lied to the police that Abi didn’t have a gun and had no plans to kill Corey but when he found out Natasha had been shot and the gun Harvey used could have been the same one Abi brought to the street, he felt guilty.

His guilt got worse when he found out Natasha’s son Sam hadn’t spoke since seeing her body as he’s so traumatised.
Roy made the decision to leave Weatherfield, but will he ever return?
