Understandably fans were horrified by the nuptials, knowing that Geoff has been controlling and emotionally abusing Yasmeen for months.
Come on Alya, rescue Yasmeen ASAP. This Geoff bloke gives me the creeps.
Now it seems he’ll have even more of a hold on her as they’re married.

Spoilers tells us that his controlling grip on her is set to get tighter and more disturbing, when he will force her to bin all of her favourite clothes and stay indoors cleaning.
Viewers have watched in mute horror as poor Yasmeen has been subjected to both psychological and emotional abuse at the hands of Geoff – and things have been getting progressively worse for the isolated chef.
Now fans are begging Alya to “rescue” her grandmother from Geoff before it’s too late.
One said: “Come on Alya, rescue Yasmeen ASAP. This Geoff bloke gives me the creeps #Corrie.”
Another added: “I do think Alya will be the key to unlocking Yasmeen from her abuser. #GirlPower.”
A third typed: “This Geoff storyline has put me in the bizarre position of rooting for Alya. I’ve been where she is. Hopefully when she finds out the truth, there’s gonna be some resolution, because lord knows that’s not what happens in real life.”
“I get that Corrie are trying to portray real life, but can they hurry up with the Yasmeen-Geoff storyline now?! He’s winding me up. Can Alya be the one to make Yasmeen see the truth!?” begged another.

One even hoped that Alya “murders him”.
The comments came in the same week that Geoff upped his campaign to isolate Yasmeen from everyone – especially Alya, who he clearly senses is a threat.
In upsetting scenes, he manipulated Alya into not going to Yasmeen and Geoff’s wedding party, and later told his new wife that Alya didn’t want to go.
The soap has worked closely with charities over the storyline to raise awareness of the horror that victims of coercive control live through.
Teresa Parker, of Women’s Aid, said: “Many people think that unless there is physical abuse, it doesn’t count.
“Coercive control underpins almost all abusive relationships, and Geoff has established himself at the centre of Yasmeen’s life, and manipulated her in so many ways.
“Gradually we are seeing the long-term effects of living with an abusive partner.”
