Coronation Street fans have a dark theory about the ITV soap’s new coercive control storyline between Geoff Metcalfe and Yasmeen Nazir – that it will end in a gruesome murder.
As his behaviour towards her worsens, viewers believe Yasmeen’s abusive partner will be killed by Tracy Barlow.
After all, she does have form.

On Wednesday (June 26), Corrie fans were unsettled to see Geoff’s mind games playing havoc with Yasmeen’s self esteem.
And, when she was mugged while carrying Speed Daal’s takings, her confidence hit an all time low.
Which is exactly what Geoff wants.
Although he played the hero after the attack, some fans suspected he was behind it.

And, in fact, it was Tracy who was the real hero after she came to a shaken Yasmeen’s aid and helped her back into No. 6 where Geoff was ‘horrified’ to hear about the mugging.
Now some viewers believe Tracy will become embroiled in the toxic relationship between Yasmeen and Geoff, and will ultimately murder him.
Writing on Digital Spy Forums, one viewer typed: “Will we see Tracy Barlow in Coronation Street help Yasmeen kill Geoff for mentally abusing her?”
“I can see Geoff being killed off. And maybe Tracy will see the signs of his abuse and help Yasmeen kill him and say it was self defence like she did when she killed Charlie Stubbs?”
Another agreed, saying: “I think you may be onto something there. Tracy will see the signs of Yasmeen being abused by Geoff and will help her to kill him at the same spot where she killed Charlie Stubbs.”
A third added: “What about if Tracy confronts Geoff about the abuse and he tries to attack Yasmeen? Would it be self defence if Tracy helped her kill him?”
Others argued the self-defence plea doesn’t apply when the abuse is mental, while another wrote: “Tracy’s more the joining in type than a defender of the meek when it comes to abuse.”
However, several said the plot reminded them of Shelley Unwin’s abuse at the hands of Charlie – until Tracy killed him.
Long-term soap fans will know that Tracy started dating Charlie in December 2005 – until he had a one-night stand with his ex-girlfriend, Shelley, resulting in her getting pregnant.
Although Tracy forgave Charlie, he betrayed her again with Maria Sutherland and Tracy concocted a plan for revenge, spreading lies that Charlie was abusing her while suggesting to Charlie that she was cheating.
When Charlie decided to throw Tracy out, she announced her intention to kill him.
In January 2007, she seduced him before hitting him over the head twice with a heavy metal ornament and eventually killing him.
Although she claimed it was self-defence, she was charged with murder and found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum of 15 years before parole.
She is also responsible for the deaths of Kal Nazir and Maddie Heath, after starting the fire that killed them – in fact, Tracy had meant to kill Carla.
