Gail Rodwell has been enjoying an extended break from Coronation Street for the last few months – but viewers think it’s time she came back.
Soap matriarch Gail – also known by her previous monikers of Potter, Tilsley, Platt, Hillman and McIntyre – was last seen in Weatherfield in July and hasn’t been seen or heard of since.

Fed up with her family, she went missing, only to be seen by viewers boarding a plane to Thailand for some R&R away from her toxic offspring.
Things reached a peak when, after being rejected on all sides by both sons David and Nick, as well as mum Audrey, Gail suddenly disappeared, leaving daughter Sarah very concerned.
It’s no surprise that things had become too much for her in the wake of David and Nick’s court hearing, which saw them both sent to jail after breaching their bail conditions.

Bangkok-bound, Gail was last seen sitting in an airport lounge as a waiter served her Champagne.
Gail, played by Helen Worth, told him: “Today is the first day of the rest of my life.”
She subsequently stood up and made for the departure gate as her flight was called, repeating to herself what she had just said.
But viewers want her back – and soon!
Writing on Coronation Street ITV Facebook group, one fan wrote: “Where is Gail? I can’t believe she’d stay away, with Shona looking after the kids? Come back Gail, your family need you!”
Another said: “Yes, come back Gail, we all need you.”
A third asked: “When is Gail coming back? I love her. She and David are so funny together.”
“I’ve missed her. She is a great actress – that is why they have kept her around for so many years. Without her, the Platts are nothing,” said one more.
Last month, actress Helen updated soap fans on her character’s whereabouts.
She appeared on Good Morning Britain to discuss the plight of the black rhino as part of an animal conservation project.
