Corrie fans are deeply unhappy with the suggestion that grieving Kate Connor may get together with old flame Sophie Webster so soon after Rana Habeeb’s death.
While the show has made no mention of the possible pairing, Sunday night’s double bill saw a sweet scene between Kate and Sophie as the latter offered her condolences.

With them being long-time friends, it’s not out of the realms of possibility that Sophie was just being there for her bezzie.
The pair shared a heartfelt hug, but fans vented on Twitter that they would absolutely not be on board if the pair got together.
One raged: “… you think Kana fans are [bleep] about killing Rana off. Force Sophie with Kate 5 hot seconds after Rana’s in the ground, and you will get even more hate. I swear I’m gonna be [bleep] Kate deserve[s] to grieve over Rana for a long ass time not hook up with Sophie.”
Others quickly agreed.
If the corrie writers have Kate and Sophie get together
They simply don’t care about LGBT people and Rana
Kate won’t get over Rana for a very long time

Rana died in the factory collapse episode last Wednesday night (March 20) leaving fans distraught.
Despite the fact she was trapped in the rubble, Kate managed to get in to see her. The pair were supposed to be getting married at that moment, but instead of the glamorous ceremony they had planned, they said their vows as Rana lay dying.
Viewers hit out at the show after Rana’s demise insisting they were going to boycott as Corrie had killed off a Muslim gay character.
Bhavna Lambachia, who played tragic Rana, later insisted on This Morning that she had made the decision for her character to die as Rana loved Kate so much it was the only way they would ever be parted.

Sunday’s special outing of the soap also saw Rana’s mother, Saira, arrive and blame Kate for her daughter’s death.
She hit out that if Rana and Kate had postponed the wedding as they had discussed, Rana would still be alive, leaving Kate devastated and fans fuming at Saira’s reaction.
Coronation Street continues Wednesday and Friday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
