Coronation Street viewers are convinced they have seen newcomer Jan Lozinski before.
Jan arrived on the cobbles recently as a builder hired by Gary Windass and the new arrival has made no secret of the fact he’s interested in Eileen Grimshaw.

Jan is played by actor Piotr Baumann and soap fans have pointed out he looks similar to an EastEnders character who appeared on the soap in 2017.
Isn’t Jan the polish builder in #coronationStreet #corrie who is interested in Eileen Grimshaw, the same builder who was interested in Shirley in #Eastenders ??? @itvcorrie @bbceastenders

The actor playing Jan also played a builder in #EastEnders and during his stint there, made a play for Shirley. He’s obviously their go-to man when the script calls for someone who “has a thing for acerbic blondes”! 😉 #Corrie

They are correct, Piotr did in fact play Konrad Topolski in the BBC soap.
Konrad fixed the leaks on the roof of The Queen Vic but after Mick was refused a loan from the bank he was unable to pay Konrad for his work.

Konrad had a thing for Shirley Carter and even offered to help her with a Polish themed night at The Vic but their romance wasn’t meant to be.
Although he is currently smooth-talking Eileen Grimshaw, he hasn’t quite won over Seb Franklin.

Seb lives with Eileen but after her last husband turned out to be a serial killer, it’s understandable that Seb is protective over her.
Jan also works for Seb’s ex-boss, Gary Windass, who recently fired Seb again after he tried it on with Gary’s girlfriend Sarah.
Piotr has also appeared in Doctors, Casualty and The Bill.
EastEnders is on Mondays and Fridays at 8pm and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm.
