Resident villain Gary Windass makes his presence felt this autumn as he overshadows more than one relationship on Coronation Street.
There are tough times ahead for couple Adam Barlow and Sarah Platt, and former couple Maria Connor and Ali Neeson as Gary threatens to destroy both relationships, taking Adam and Ali down in the process.
After Sarah ended her relationship with Gary, she started going out with Adam, leaving her ex determined to take revenge on the solicitor.
When Adam starts prying into Gary’s dodgy business, Gary decides it’s time to take Adam down a peg or two.
Although Gary may still have feelings for his ex-girlfriend and is still feeling guilty for everything he’s done, Sarah crossed him and left him with nothing.
Gary is losing the plot a little bit.
Viewers know Gary’s life has taken a dark turn since then and the former squaddie now makes for a very dangerous enemy. Adam certainly needs to watch his back…

However, revenge isn’t the only thing on Gary’s mind as romance appears to be in the air for him and hairdresser Maria, who recently split from Doctor Ali.
When Gary sets his sights on Maria, it soon becomes clear he’ll stop at nothing to get what he wants.
Maria and Ali’s relationship was far from perfect and spotting signs of weakness, Gary steps in and makes his move.
Maria is unaware of Gary’s dark side and is flattered by the attention, seeing Gary as only a businessman and a great father to his oldest son Jake.
Similar to Adam, Ali has his suspicions of the businessman’s sudden turn of fortune, but will he be able to warn Maria?
Mikey North, who plays Gary, said: “Gary is losing the plot a little bit.
“He is unstable and out of control so whatever he gets up to next, nothing would surprise me.
“It will be interesting to see whether or not Gary and Maria are with the wrong people.
“Maybe Gary does want to be with Sarah and Maria does want to be with Ali, that may be the thing, but time will tell.

“Gary and Maria have got a lot of stuff to come, it will be interesting to see whether this is going to alienate Maria from the street as Gary is not the most popular person right now.
“He does mean well with Maria and he loves his kids, he’s not all bad.”
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
