Coronation Street viewers baffled by pub sale ‘gaffe’

Jenny and Johnny have bought the Rovers but fans aren't quite sure how

Coronation Street fans have been left baffled by a whopping ‘gaffe’ over the pub sale.

Viewers are completely confused about how fast Johnny Connor and Jenny Bradley have been able to buy the Rovers Return.

They have watched as Toyah Battersby and Peter Barlow agreed to sell the pub on Wednesday and within a few short hours the new couple had fast-tracked the cash and were in.

However, fans are questioning how this has happened because in reality it isn’t that simple.

Most property sales take months to complete and pubs are no different.

And other viewers are demanding to know how Johnny and Jenny managed to get a licence to run the pub in such a short space of time.

One wrote: “Has the rovers changed hands since Wednesday?

“Fast working surveyors, accountants, bank managers, loan arranger, insurance companies and solicitors. I assume Johnny passed his medical too #corrie”

A second added: “It must be really great to live in Coronation Street.

“In real street it takes weeks after putting an offer on a house to exchanging and completing but if I lived on Coronation Street and put an offer in to buy a pub I can buy it quicker than I can buy an iron from Argos!”

There is also the matter of how they got a licence anyway with their criminal convictions.

One furious viewer asked: “That pub changed hands bloody quickly!

“And who the hell is the licensee, given Mr & Mrs Connor’s legal problems? #Corrie #CoronationStreet”
