Coronation Street has revealed Kate Connor’s final scene in a touching backstage picture.
Actress Faye Brookes filmed her final scenes on the cobbles and ITV’s social media team were there to catch the moment she said goodbye.
Posted on the official Corrie Twitter account, Kate can be seen hugging her dad Johnny Connor goodbye as her step-mum Jenny Bradley watches on.
The snap brings to an end the four years Faye has stared as Kate on the Street, after she filmed her final scene yesterday.
A source told The Sun earlier this week: “It’s an exciting and really emotional time for Faye as she’ll be saying goodbye to the soap in a couple of days.

“She’s had such an amazing time there but made the decision in April to leave at the end of her contract. Faye and Gareth think it’s the perfect time to put their other plans in motion so are leaving Manchester for London.
“Faye’s made no secret about wanting to be a stage star – and now could be her time.”
Faye was clearly overwhelmed with love and support as she left the cobbles, retweeting a number of fan messages to her about it all.
One read: “I’m honestly so sad BUT this woman here is so INCREDIBLE! Wish I could put into words how much I love and appreciate you, Faye.
“Thank you for everything… and I mean EVERYTHING. The world isn’t ready for your talent. Go get ’em!.”
Another read: “So today @Faye_Brookes leaves Corrie. There’s been ups and downs, laughs and tears.

“Faye, it’s been a pleasure watching you bring Kate Connor to life over the last three years.
“Good luck with whatever you do in the future, I’m sure you’ll smash it!”
She will remain on screen until September when Kate decides to leave Weatherfield for a life elsewhere after the tragic loss of wife Rana Habeeb on their wedding day.
