There’s a sad departure on the cards for next week’s Coronation Street as Adam Barlow leaves the cobbles. But is he coming back?
Adam’s had a bit of a rough ride in Coronation Street of late when it comes to romance.
First he was seduced by Kate Connor before Christmas, only for it to turn out that she was only after a baby, not a relationship with him.

Then only recently, he spent the evening getting closer to Sarah Platt after sharing a bottle of wine together, only for her to understandably freak out when he kissed her and run away.
But things got even more complicated when Seb Franklin stepped in to defend Sarah, thinking Adam was harassing her, only for him to be rewarded for his efforts with a punch in the face from Adam.
Next week doesn’t get any better for the solicitor when the guilt of hitting Seb and leaving him with a black eye leads to Adam offering his law skills for free.
Seb has the hearing for adopting his twin siblings coming up, and feeling bad – and somewhat prompted by Sarah – Adam offers to represent Seb in court.
But his good deed doesn’t really help when the court case goes badly thanks to Abi Franklin, leaving Seb at rock bottom.
Wanting to get his own back for losing his job with Gary right before the court case, Seb tells Gary about Sarah and Adam’s cosy night in, opening a whole can of worms.
Gary confronts Adam about what he has been up to with his girlfriend, and the pair argue – leaving Adam to decide he’s had enough of other people’s relationship dramas and that perhaps it is time to depart the cobbles.
Daniel is shocked to find Adam packing his bags at the end of next week, but Adam explains he needs a change of scenery and is going travelling for a couple of months.

As Adam departs Weatherfield, Sarah watches on from afar, relived that he is out of the picture for a while so she can mend her relationship with Gary.
But she is also secretly a little regretful… does this mean she is harbouring feelings for him after all?
Will Adam be back?
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
