Coronation Street stars Alison King and Chris Gascoyne have hinted at some exciting times ahead for their characters, Carla Connor and Peter Barlow – could a reconciliation be on the Christmas Cards?
Carla and Peter have had a tumultuous time over their years on the cobbles, with marriages, affairs, drinking problems, and co-ownership of a factory that keeps burning down.

And while their relationship is mostly professional right now, Alison and Chris have suggested that things might be about to change.
In an interview with Acumen Magazine, the pair spoke about the upcoming episodes of the soap, and the enduring bond between their characters.
“Will it ever be truly over between Carla and Peter?” Alison mused. “If one of us dies, maybe. Something will always be there.”
She claimed that the two are “as linked as two people can be,” going on to say “they can’t ignore each other.”

The pair have been brought together again, now they’ve been back to co-owning textile factory, Underworld.
They’ve already shown they can’t quite manage to keep their hands off each other, as a crisis led to the pair sleeping together.
And there may be more to come over Christmas, as residual feelings come to the fore.
“We’re starting a really exciting and grown up chapter which begins with quite an extravagant Christmas present from Carla to Peter,” said Chris. “It’s unusual and initially he can’t work it out but then…”

He went on to say the pair would have a “fabulous” New Year’s Eve – could that mean a midnight kiss?
Or course, if a reconciliation is to happen, Peter might have to beg for forgiveness first – after he sold his Underworld shares without telling Carla.
Fans of the couple will have to wait a few weeks to find out!
