Multiple stars have announced they are leaving Coronation Street in recent months, and this week a whopping eight characters’ exits will be aired.
The ITV soap is already bidding farewell to Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon), Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh), Kate Connor (Faye Brookes), Tristan Gemmill (Robert Preston) and, reportedly, Sinead Tinker (Katie McGlynn).
However, some other characters will soon be saying goodbye to Weatherfield as well.
Thankfully, these actors will only be taking a temporary break from the show and are expected to return.
So, here is who will be off-screen for a little while.
Carla, Peter and Simon…
Following Carla’s breakdown from her episode of psychosis, she seeks help and is offered live-in treatment. But it’s all the way in Carlisle.
As Carla, played by Alison King, prepares to leave the cobbles to get better, Peter decides that he will go with her.
When he announces his plans, Simon then steps in to say he will go with them, too.
The three characters are set to return after Carla’s medical care.
Norris and Freda…

Norris reveals his plans to head off to Scotland with Freda, as they plan to get married in Edinburgh.
When the residents of Weatherfield throw him a farewell party, he reveals how much he will actually miss all of his friends and realises he doesn’t want to say goodbye for good.
Producer Iain MacLeod has said there are plans for Norris’ permanent return – but will Freda be coming back with him?
Dev, Asha and Aadi…

Corrie veteran Jimmi Harkishin is set to take a couple of months off for a break, so his character Dev will be flying to India to visit an ailing relative.
Mary then manages to persuade Dev to take twins Asha and Aadi with him, especially after Asha’s recent rebellious behaviour.
Viewers will then see Dev say his temporary goodbyes to Mary.
