Coronation Street SPOILER: Eight exits lined up next week

But most of them will be back

Next week will see eight Coronation Street characters departing the cobbles.

But while some will be waving farewell for good, others will return – we hope!

The first to bid adieu will be Carla Connor, Peter Barlow and Simon Barlow.

After her breakdown the previous week Carla is back in hospital and the doctors inform Peter they’ve found a specialist place for her at a unit in Carlisle.

Determined to be there for his other half, Peter announces he’s moving to Carlisle with her for as long as it takes to get her back on the right track.

As he gets ready to head off on his trip, Peter is touched when Simon announces he’s going with his dad to support him.

They leave the Street on Monday June 3, but we’re sure they’ll be back.

Next to depart is Dev Alahan and his twins, Asha and Aadi.

Dev gets a call early in the week to say his uncle in India is dying and immediately makes plans to go and see him.

But with Asha continuing to act up and cause trouble, he’s at the end of his tether when she insists she’s going to a party. Even though Dev forbids it, she asks her brother to cover for her and sneaks out anyway.

When her dad discovers what she’s done, he’s at his wits end. It’s Mary who comes up with the solution: take the kids to India with him.

Dev realises she’s right and on Wednesday June 5, he and the kids wave goodbye to Mary and leave Evelyn in charge of the shop.

Actor Jimmi Harkishin recently revealed he was taking a two-month break from the soap to go travelling to China and Japan, but he will be back on the show as he’s been there an incredible 20 years.

It’s not a great week for poor Mary when she then discovers Norris is packing up and moving away for good.

Despite their fall out over his keeping Brendan’s letters from her, he tries to apologise once again, insisting he was trying to protect her, before then leaving her devastated when he tells her he’s moving to Edinburgh.

He intends to marry Freda and they are set to leave together.

His friends throw him a leaving party in the Rovers, but Rita starts to worry when he doesn’t turn up.

She finds him back at No.3 searching frantically for his Commonwealth Games medal.

When he finally finds it, he puts it proudly round his neck and heads to his party.

Or will he and Freda leave the cobbles for a new life together for good?

Next week Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
