There’s heartbreak in store for Coronation Street’s Emma Brooker this week when she makes a shock discovery about her dad.
It has been reported that Coronation Street favourite Emma is set to find her world unravelling when her dad suddenly passes away, only to then discover her biological dad is none other than cobbles legend Steve McDonald.
Reports suggest that Emma’s next big storyline is set to pave the way for the character’s mum Fiona Middleton, played by former Corrie favourite Angela Griffin, to make a comeback – and this week sees this potential storyline kicking off when Emma gets some shocking news.

Emma is upset to hear that her dad is in hospital and is determined to go and visit him. But when Gemma desperately needs someone to babysit Joseph for her, Emma agrees and puts visiting her dad on the back burner.
But the hairdressing apprentice is really fed up when she later ends up looking after Liam as well as Joseph, knowing that seeing her dad any time soon is looking more and more unlikely.
When Emma finally gets to the hospital to see her father, she is heartbroken to discover he has been diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer and she returns to the cobbles in a state of shock.
Maria is there to give her friend a shoulder to cry on, but it’s clear Emma is really worried about what the future might hold for her family.
To make matters worse, Emma, who hasn’t spoken much about her family since arriving in Weatherfield last year, opens up to Maria about her mum.
The hairdresser reveals that her mum lives in Australia but has refused to come home despite the fact her father’s diagnosis doesn’t look good.

If reports are to be believed it seems Emma’s story isn’t going to have a happy ending with her dad sadly passing away.
But how will she react if she really does discover that the man she is mourning wasn’t her biological father, and that her actual dad has been living across the cobbles all this time?
