It looks like Emma’s plans to scatter her dad’s ashes could be ruined in tonight’s Coronation Street.
A couple of weeks ago, Emma was left devastated after her dad passed away shortly after being diagnosed with stomach cancer.
She had another shock when her dad revealed that he wasn’t her biological father.
In tonight’s episode (September 4 2019) Emma wants to go through with her father’s final wishes – having his ashes scattered at Weatherfield County’s ground.

However, when they arrive there’s the small issue of the security guard.
In a preview clip shared on the official Coronation Street YouTube channel, James can be seen trying to talk his way into the stadium with Emma, Steve and Michael all with him.
As the guard tells footballer James he isn’t on the list to bring guests, James tries to tell the guard he cleared it with the coach.
But the guard still isn’t buying it and says they can’t get in without a valid pass.
Steve then tries to tell the security guard that Emma is James’ girlfriend and just wants a quick tour of the stadium but the guard worries that word will get out that he’s a “soft touch”.
As Emma talks to the guard, he seems to give in and is about to give them access to the grounds when he notices Emma carrying an urn, which obviously contains her dad’s ashes.

He tells them scattering ashes isn’t allowed due to health and safety.
Emma tells the guard her dad’s ashes are in the urn and how much he loved the team.
After her father died, Emma was shocked to find out that Steve McDonald was her biological father. He had a relationship with her mum Fiona Middleton back in 1998.

Although Emma originally planned to move away, she was convinced to stay by Steve’s wife Tracy and her half-sister Amy.
Although Emma was adamant she didn’t want anyone to replace her dad, Steve has been trying to help her out and she has been spending time with Amy to get to know her.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
