The longest love triangle that Weatherfield has ever seen takes a dramatic twist next week when Chesney and Emma break up, and Chesney and Gemma finally get together.
Gemma and Chesney have had the hots for each other for what feels like forever. But after a lot of messing about, the pair are finally set to become a couple at the start of February, all thanks to a stolen ring.
After Paul steals a precious ring from Roy next week, Gemma is fuming with her brother and demands he gives it back.

The only problem is, Paul’s already sold it for £200, not realising that it was worth at least £3000!
The siblings race to the market to get the ring back from Big Garth, who Paul sold the jewellery to… only to find themselves locked in a van and needing to call Chesney and Emma to come and rescue them.
Gemma can’t hide her feelings as she thanks Chesney for being her knight in shining armour… and as she goes to hug him, Emma notices a spark between the pair and realises that they are made for each other.
Putting her feelings to one side, Emma kindly breaks up with Chesney, leaving him free to date Gemma.
The kebab shop worker is thrilled, and before you can say ‘Chemma’ the pair are an item.
The new couple plan to have their first official date at the pub, but when Gemma fails to show up, Chesney is left heartbroken and thinks things are over before they have even begun.
Thankfully, Gemma is quick to apologise and reassures Ches that her feelings for him haven’t changed. Perhaps they could be the cobbles’ hottest new couple after all.
As Gemma suggests a night in together with a takeaway, Chesney thinks all his Christmases have come at once and quickly agrees. Their date is a success and, before you know it, the pair are inseparable.
In fact, they’re so besotted, that by the end of the next week Chesney is going to all the effort of getting a babysitter just so that he can sit in the pub while Gemma is working behind the bar.
With Jenny and Johnny away, Gemma asks Emma to take over at the bar while her and Chesney sneak down to the cellar to have some alone time… bit cheeky if you ask us, especially as Chesney was still Emma’s boyfriend at the start of the week!

Now Gemma and Chesney are finally a couple, does this mean their romance is set to last? Or will the secret past that Gemma has been hiding come back to haunt her?
