Just when it looks like things couldn’t get any worse for Sarah Platt next week, Nicola rocks up in Weatherfield with little baby Zack.
Coronation Street fans will know that Sarah made peace with Nicola and Gary for their night of passion together, even forgiving the pair when little baby Zack came into the world – a constant reminder of her boyfriend’s infidelity.
But with Gary and Sarah’s romance already strained to stay the least, Nicola’s couldn’t have timed her return to the cobbles to see Eileen any worse.
It’s not the fact that Nicola has come back with Gary’s son that has got Sarah all wound up, it is the fact that the little one is dressed head-to-toe in designer clothes that Gary has given him that has got her angry.

As Nicola gently reminds Gary that he has fallen behind on his maintenance payments for Zack, the builder tells her not to worry because he has just landed himself a big new contract… but is it really that simple?
Gary’s gutted when he finds out the new big contract – which was to fix Audrey’s dry rot – has fallen through when the hairdresser gets a cheaper quote.
Nicola then finds herself caught up in Gary and Sarah’s relationship woes once again when she is out for lunch with Gary, and Sarah catches them together.
Having also discovered that he lost the contract with her gran, Sarah sees red and can’t believe that he is spending money they don’t have on fancy lunches with his ex, leaving Nicola feeling awkward.
But it is only later in the week when Nicola actually turns out to be Sarah’s ally.
When Gary tells Sarah that they’re so desperate for cash that he is considering work in Qatar with his old friend Joe, Sarah isn’t happy about him leaving Weatherfield.

But when Nicola then backs Sarah up and reminds Gary that she has said he can cancel his maintenance for Zack until he is back on his feet financially, she unwittingly causes even more trouble between the pair because Gary hadn’t told his other half about their new agreement.
With Gary and Sarah having a lot to discuss, where does this leave Nicola?
She’s back in town to see Eileen, but will she stay for long? Or is her visit just a flying one?
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
