There’s confusion on Coronation Street next week when Freda Burgess returns to the cobbles without Norris Cole.
There have been rumours that Norris is set to cause waves when he returns to Coronation Street later this year when he brings a new partner with him, having fallen for Emily Bishop’s niece while staying with them.
But there’s a twist in the storyline next week when Freda arrives on the cobbles to put number 3 on the market, and Norris is not with her.

Norris’s wife Mary will question whether to ask him for a divorce next week when she becomes determined to move on with her latest crush, Jan Lozinski.
However, as she contemplates how to break the news to her friend and spouse, she’s thrown when she sees the door of Norris’s house is open.
As she approaches Number 3 with Tracy, the pair are shocked to see Freda is inside, getting the house ready to be put up for sale.
Freda explains that Norris asked her to sell the house on his behalf, revealing that she has returned to Weatherfield without him.
Mary gets cross that Norris has been ignoring her calls about the divorce, and vows to investigate what has happened to him.
But when Freda later gets out an urn of ashes and places a photo of Norris next to it, does this odd combination mean that he could be dead?!
But is that what has really happened? If it’s not Norris in the urn, who is?

While Norris’s fate remains a mystery for now, it seems fans of the cobbles’ busybody don’t need to panic after behind the scenes photos of him on set have been released by Coronation Street.
It was recently hinted that while Norris hasn’t even been seen back on screen yet, actor Malcolm Hebden has already finished filming his character’s brief return to the soap.
Fans have been left thrilled at the thought of legendary Norris gracing the cobbles once again, and it seems that while the wait might almost be over, we might need to make the most of his grumpiness while we can.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
