There is trouble between estranged brother and sister Gemma Winter and Paul Foreman next week when Paul steals a family heirloom from Roy Cropper, and Gemma demands that he returns it. The only problem is, he’s already sold it…
After offering to help Billy Mayhew with his charity jumble sale, Paul can’t believe his luck when he finds a valuable ring stashed away in one of the bags.
But as he’s thinking about where to sell the ring to make the most cash, Roy has noticed that his late mother’s diamond ring is missing and goes to see Billy and ask if he’s seen it amongst the jumble he donated.

Gemma overhears the conversation, and knowing her brother like she does, she is instantly suspicious of Paul.
Confronting her sibling about robbing a family heirloom from an unsuspecting Roy, Gemma is shocked to hear he has already sold the ring for £200 to someone called Big Garth.
When Gemma reveals that the jewellery was actually worth £3000 Paul can’t believe it and the pair head off to the market to try and get it back.
But despite the fact Gemma is helping Paul, he still threatens her, revealing that if she grasses on him to Roy then he will tell Chesney everything about her dark past.
More determined that ever to get the ring back, Gemma and Paul come face-to-face with Big Garth at the market, but unsurprisingly he refuses to give it back.
But as the pair resort to desperate measures and try to break into his van to get the jewellery back, they end up getting locked in the back with no way of escaping.
Gemma is fuming with her brother for getting them into this mess, until he starts to have a panic attack about being locked in the van and she realises they need help quicker than ever.
She calls Chesney and Emma to help distract Garth so they can use the moment to escape, and thankfully it works. But as Gemma hugs Chesney to say thank you for rescuing her, the pair share a ‘moment’ and Emma witnesses everything.

Realising from the hug that Gemma and Chesney are meant to be together, Emma kindly puts her feelings to one side and finishes with Ches to set him free.
Chesney is thrilled and shares a kiss with Gemma… and it looks like this romance that has been in the pipeline for months has finally happened.
But what about the ring? Did Gemma and Paul find it in the van?
Or has Roy lost his mum’s precious jewellery forever?
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
