Coronation Street SPOILER: Peter gets a lead on Carla’s whereabouts

Can he bring her home?

| Updated:

Peter Barlow’s desperate search for missing Carla Connor takes a dramatic turn next week when he gets a tip off about where she might be.

Carla Connor has been on a downward spiral ever since the Underworld roof collapse that tragically killed Rana Habeeb on her wedding day.

But while Carla might have know the factory roof was slightly dodgy, Coronation Street viewers know that she isn’t the one with blood on her hands as someone sabotaged the roof right before it collapsed.

But Carla is convinced she is the reason Rana is dead, and so is half of Weatherfield, and she has been struggling to cope with the guilt ever since.

As the weight of what happened weighed down on Carla, she couldn’t cope any longer and fled the cobbles, leaving a worried Peter Barlow behind.

But as he desperately tries to track Carla down, worried about her state of mind, Peter gets a new lead next week and he thinks he could be close to bringing his girlfriend home.

As Peter frets about Carla next week, Simon comes up with the idea they use her photo on social media and use the hashtag #findcarla to see if anyone has spotted her.

Peter isn’t convinced it is going to work, but he’s so desperate to find Carla that he’s willing to try anything.

To his surprise, a notification pops up from someone who claims to have seen Carla, and Peter is thrilled to have their first lead in weeks.

Unsurprisingly, the man who claims to have seen Carla is demanding cash in return for information, but Peter agrees to go to Carla’s old estate to meet him.

Ken is adamant that they should tell the police what is happening, but Peter is determined to do this alone and arrives at a derelict house to hand over a wad of cash. But can the mystery man help them find Carla?

It seems their search is fruitless because the following day Peter gets a call from the police telling him that Carla used her card to get money from a cash machine near a squat on the estate Peter has just been to.

Peter tells the Connors that there has been another sighting of Carla and everyone is hopeful that this time they might get some answers.

Peter and Johnny go to the squat to see if they can find Carla, but when a desperate Peter gets heavy handed with one of the residents Johnny is forced to pull Peter off and get him to calm down.

No closer to finding Carla, Peter starts to struggle without her and is soon crumbling under the pressure of her sudden disappearance.

Can his family help him before he does something that he’ll later regret?

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
