It looks like there could be trouble on the cards for Sarah Platt and Gary Windass next week as Adam Barlow makes a surprise play for the personal assistant.
Gary and Sarah’s relationship has been strained to say the least recently, and with their money worries forcing them to move back in with the rest of the Platt family, the pressures of family life are starting to take their toll.
But if the cracks weren’t already showing, they definitely will when Audrey’s arrival at the family home mean they’re sleeping on a blow up mattress in the front room.
Stressed and fed up, Sarah’s week gets even worse when Nicola arrives back in Weatherfield with baby Zack, and he is dressed head-to-toe in designer clothes that Gary has paid for.

Desperate for some cash after a contract with Audrey falls through, Gary phones his old friend Joe and asks him for some work.
But when Sarah catches the pair discussing a job in Qatar, she loses the plot, fuming that Gary would work for Joe when last time it almost killed him.
Just when Sarah thought she couldn’t be any more angry, she then discovers that Nicola has told Gary he can stop paying her maintenance for Zack until he is back on his feet.
Fuming at being kept in the dark once again, Sarah can’t take any more and heads to the bar to down some shots, determined to forget about her problems at home.
But as the alcohol starts flowing, Sarah gets chatting to Adam Barlow, and when he suggests a nightcap at his, she quickly agrees, determined to avoid Gary for as long as possible.
Once back at his flat, the pair share a bottle of wine and things get seriously flirty… so much so that Adam misreads the signs and goes in for a kiss. But will Sarah respond?
Later Sarah is seen storming out of Adam’s flat and the pair argue in the street – and Seb is there to witness the whole thing.
Thinking that Sarah is being harassed, Seb steps in and gives Adam a shove… only to be rewarded with a punch in the face for his efforts.

As Sarah takes Seb home to tend to his wounds, she is forced to lie to Gary that he was attacked by random strangers… but will Seb keep her secret?
And more to the point, was Sarah fleeing Adam’s flat because of his advances, or because she regrets kissing him back?
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
